Also called "Jockey Layton", "Kack O'Lattan", "Jacky Latin" in older sources.
Named after Jack Lattin (1710-1731), a gentleman fiddler and dancer, who
on a summer's day danced eight miles from Morristown to Castle Browne and then
dropped dead from exhaustion. This was said to have been because of a wager or
challenge.
