The High Level Hornpipe is a three-part hornpipe in G major, written in C| time. The tune contains about 27 bars and spans from D3 to A4. It is credited to James Hill (1811-1853 or 1815-1860), Northumberland. Original tune in Bb, and only 2 parts James Hill was born in Scotland between 1813 and 1818, moved to Tyneside (he lived in Gateshead for sure, possibly Newcastle and other places for a while) and was active in the mid-1800s. No date of death.
